To enhance health though innovative therapeutic and wellness solutions by promoting comprehensive, integrated, behavioral health & substance abuse treatment to the individuals & families we serve.
A system of care builds not only on the strengths of the child and family, but also on the strengths of the community where that family lives. Providing community-based services means having high quality services accessible to families in the least restrictive setting possible. A community-based system of care requires systems to see the home, school, and neighborhood of the family from an asset perspective, and to identify the natural supports in these familiar surroundings as part of a strengths- based approach.

All clients deserve to receive high quality care and attention to their wellbeing. Operating as a community-driven practice, HLM Wellness' standard is taking a highly tailored and individualistic approach to our therapy services.

I am here to work alongside you, offering a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for growth and healing. Taking the first step toward therapy is courageous, and I commend you for beginning this transformative journey. Together, we can work toward positive change and lasting recovery.
I'm deeply committed to cross sector collaboration that utilizes an asset-based approach to develop strategies which promote community driven solutions to system created problems. I started my journey while receiving my undergraduate degree at Coastal Carolina University in Recreation and Sport Management, while serving as the program manager for the Boys and Girls Club. There, I worked with children and youth communities and provided resources and educational opportunities for all ages. Additionally, I specialized in writing program curriculum for various departments and created education, health and wellness programs at the Boys and Girls Clubs around the South Carolina area.
After graduating with my Bachelors Degree from Coastal Carolina, I became the recreation director for a skilled nursing care facility where I worked with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients and specialized in memory care. I received my master’s degree from Winthrop University in Social Work. I serve as as the Clinical Director for an agency serving a various of mental health and behavioral health populations. As I progressed, I gained opportunities and experience in social work, counseling, and therapy roles such as working in private practice working with different school systems, youth children and families providing mental health services, anger management alcohol and abuse and working alongside the Federal Government in forensics for the federal Bureau of prisons and other various government and community agencies. I also serve as the Program Director for a corporate mental health agency -- and now as the owner of HLM Wellness Consulting and Counseling.
When establishing HLM, my aim was to foster an environment characterized by authenticity, safety, and trust, where individuals could freely express themselves and feel acknowledged, listened to, valued, and devoid of judgment. At HLM, you're encouraged to embrace your true self and engage in this reflective process without reservation. My professional trajectory commenced in youth and family services within a community health framework. Over time, I have ventured into diverse roles encompassing individuals, couples, specialized groups, and program management across both profit and non-profit domains.
This journey has culminated in a profound affinity and specialization in working with young and middle-aged individuals. At HLM, I employ a person-centered approach, fostering an empathetic atmosphere underscored by unconditional positive regard. I firmly believe that every client possesses unique strengths and insights into their own lives. At HLM, our role is to equip you with the tools and skills necessary for enhancing and sustaining emotional well-being. At HLM, we provide counseling, consulting, educational and professional development services.
One of my favorite populations to serve is working with prison system population and providing mental health counseling to inmates in need of counseling and re-entry resources, I have worked alongside various private practice agencies as a clinical consultant and provided direct clinical services to youth and adults in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment and community-based settings, as well as therapy outlets for athletes. I specializes in forensic social work and continue to work with cross systems involved youth and young adults who have experienced and participated in acts of community violence as well as used a human resource structural frame approach to shift upstream and stepped away from direct service to begin working on programmatic, organizational and system changes.
My goal is to end suffering youth and young adults by fighting to eliminate barriers to dreaming, increase youth visibility, and create pathways to opportunities. I believes that relationships heal and there is power in empathy, compassion, and kindness. My passion stands with advocacy, clinical social work, and providing mental health services and resources for those battling addiction and mental health issues.
